IP protection classes (tightness)
Control cabinets offer very different degrees of protection for the electronic systems contained inside them. What are the IP protection classes used in control cabinets, based on the PN-EN 60529:2003 standard?
What are IP protection classes?
IP classification is used to determine the degree of protection of electrical equipment against external factors that could have a negative impact on their safety and functionality. Assigning the appropriate IP class also provides a lot of valuable information regarding the durability of the device.
It is not pointless to assign an IP protection class to all electrical devices. Describing them is primarily intended to ensure the safety of users, so it is worth knowing what the individual elements contained in the code mean.
